No confusion here Betty :)
I looked at the Roane Co Birth records and found
Noel D. 14 Nov 1917 FlatFork, WV
O. O.
Leota
The only other one that isn't them
S. E. (M) 19 Jan. 1872 Roane
Jahe Farmer
Leota
Interesting that they don't record their children's births but it seems to be
the way they did things.
If I ever get back to WV again would like to connect with you. Where as I'm not
working but my husband sure is.

First, do you think the poor kid was actually named Bubby?
I had to find the marriages of the ones I didn't have, and discovered
that Oscar Owens Casto did indeed marry Leota Fields. They enjoyed the
experience so much that they had it recorded in both Jackson
(2/16/1914) and Roane Co (2/22/1914). But when I went to enter the
marriage and connect them, I found that Oscar had been married before,
to Leota C Rhodes. That threw me for a moment, wondering if it was the
same woman and I had the last name wrong, but no, they'd had a child
in 1908, who just happens to be my uncle. So I went looking and found
Leota Rhodes Casto's death record. So here's what I have on the family.
Oscar Owens Casto, b. 7/8/1884 Jax
Leota C Rhodes, b. 11/1885, d. 2/19/1913 Jax
m. 1/19/1908 Jax
child
Waldie Laton b. 11/11/1908 Jax, d. 6/16/1991 m. 6/14/1936 Jax, Maudie
Leota Casto b. 2/4/1911 Jax, d. 6/19/1937 (Mom's little sister)
Oscar married Leota Fields - take your pick of the dates. Children:
Dale
William Austin
Noel Douglas
Denvil G
Dell M
Alzie V
Oscar Owens
Dale did not show up in the 1920 census, and I have no idea if boy or
girl. Denvil, Dell and Alzie are not in the Jax births, so probably
born in Roane Co.

I wonder if this Sarah Rhodes was a widow of a Rhodes or a dau of
Christopher Rhodes? b-James Bradley, does that mean brother?
Kenneth Bailey are you still on this site, have you figured this one
out yet?

Would you list the children for George Goode and Nancy Harmon? I

I can understand the problem with public websites. A very distance relation
put some information on the internet and it took me years to get her to
remove it. It was on a website that also made CD's from information on the
sites, which I couldn't do anything about.
There is lot of information that is false on the internet in genealogy,
which I hope people will look for the source after finding anything.
There is also a lot of good information on the internet. My sister-in-law
before she died in 2000 found her sister after 50 plus years and it was
because of the internet. I have seen lot of people find lost relations
through the internet and it has brought lot of people closer together.
People do a better job in keeping in touch by email.

I was afraid of that - I had his as Crayton. Don't know if I misread the
census or if they made the mistake. I understand completely about not
wanting to share too much about the younger generations. Years ago, a cousin
asked for info on my family, which I gave him. He then put it all on a
website, including birthdates. That sorta upset me.

I don't know you age but I was born in 1943. I am working harder now than
ever. Tomorrow I go to Martinsburg for two days in doing so re-wiring of a
network and my husband is going with me. I have been working with computers
since around 1982 when I first put my genealogy on a computer. Did a
workshop on genealogy and computers back in 1984 for HCGS. Have had the same email address since 1993. I only have three grandkids and the youngest
is 16. I don't have time to retire and enjoying life to much. What about
the rest of you all?

Thank you, JoAnn. I just passed a year and a half without my darlin'
and yes, that really cute sailor on my website is him. I can honestly say
that now my life consists of playing with my grandkids and genealogy, with
the occasional trips to southern CA to see my other kid. I retired this
year, so I have time to play and that is how I do it - don't know about Sue.
I have a feeling that she is younger.

of them are listed in the Jackson Co. Birth records. Just hope we get

Betty,
I would love to meet you and William when you come to Jackson Co. Can
I invite myself to this meeting?
William, was Delmer's obit in the Jackson Herald or the Star? My mom
still gets both and I'm always searching the obits for a cousin.

to come hunting you next fall when I'm back there!

Thanks, JoAnn!
Roy would have been Roy Hubert, he was Roy H when he got married.
Holly Gordon Price was the son of Josephine Greenleaf and guess who?
William Edward 'Willie' Price, brother of Louisa's stepmother,
Jeanettie. Let's keep it in the family! :)
All the kids' births except Ottie's are recorded in Jackson Co.
I've added Mazie - I wonder if she was a Masel/Macel? Wish I could
find William B & Rebecca in 1920!
Monday, May 23, 2005 4:11 PM JoAnn
Betty,
I talked to my cousin and she said Freda Rhodes (dau of Wm "Benny
Rhodes and Rebecca Southall)was married to Virgil "Virge" Fields.
Their children, Roy married Ophelia Cox and Louisa married Holly
Gordon Price. Roy and Ophelia had the following children; Elodine
Marie, Evadean Fay, Helen Earnestine. Louisa and Holly had the
following children; Ottie, Bobby Gay, Delmer Lee, Earline Virginia,
Pauline May, Raymond Delmas, Victoria((b)11-22-1933 (d)11-23-1933,
Jenine Rebie (Stillborn) (d) 2-23-or-28-1935, Nadine Marie
(twin),Aline Jean (twin)and Hubert Ray Price. Hubert Fields must
have died as an infant and Louisa named one of her sons after him.
Virgil Fields and Jeanettie Price had the following children:
Alfred S., Basil Clair, Cecil Gay, Charles, Dorothy Mae, Monnie V,
Ray Okey,
I asked about Romulus and she didn't remember him so he is IDKWIGT
(I don't know where I got that) Mazie was married to my Uncle
Clayton Rhodes, he was born in 1908 so she had to around that age.
She said her middle name may have been Bell. They would have been
married about 1929 or 30.
